Rubio did his job as a United States Senator: He listened to and addressed the concerns of his constituents in a public forum.

If that's cause for atta-boys and hosannas, the bar regarding expectations of elected officials is really low.

But then I guess we already knew that.

It was produced with the primary aim of, "We're mad as hell and need to hit at something, so give us a couple of people brave (or stupid) enough to be human piñatas.''

Our police are, short of the military, the most highly trained people in firearms confrontation in our society. How many bad shoots do we see every year? If you are going to put a pistol in the hands of the wrestling coach or the janitor, then it's only a matter of time before someone shoots when it wasn't necessary, or kills innocents who were downrange, or the gun gets stolen and turns up elsewhere.

It's all but inevitable, but the "good guy with a gun" myth gets pushed forward anyhow.

 

And provide more opportunities for minorities because they are adversely affected by failing schools. Why the problem with brown people succeeding, Inky?

 

The problem is, since everyone says arming teachers is a very bad idea, you know Trump will make it the cornerstone of his program.

 

Of course he will, and then he'll blame the Democrats for not supporting it. The standard Trump two-step.

 

And probably a nice little contract for the brother of betsy devos for the training of all the teachers.
