They might be saving the death penalty for when the rest of the shoes drop from the FBI.

I dunno, taking away a title and making the program and its one-time champions live under a cloud for the rest of their lives seems pretty forceful. I certainly wouldn’t want to have anything I achieved officially vacated. At least they don’t have to give the blowjobs back to those hookers. I mean, I think they don’t; I didn’t read the entire ruling.

I don't hink this penalty had anything to do with the pending Adidas investigation. When the NCAA gets around to punishing schools for that scandal they may have no choice but to give Louisville the death penalty.

Was for some strange reason listening to Golic and Wingo on the radio and it was brought up that taking the banner down is stupid because it only hurts the innocent "student-athletes" and it doesn't change Patino's legacy anyway -- two things I strongly disagree with.

I think if the NCAA REQUIRED the banner come down, At halftime during a conference game no less - you might actually get some schools' attention. The players really don't care, the alums who create and contribute to the culture absolutely do.

    Must they?

What if they don't want to?

Talk to Syracuse about their vacated 1990 lacrosse title.

The media guide ignores the ruling. School claims they have one more lax title than they actually do.

And the trophy? They were supposed to give it back. It went missing instead. Now supposedly buried in the casket with Roy Simmons.

I actually agree that the banners can stay up. I think vacating a championship is trying to erase history. But I think Pitino's legacy has been crushed.

I don't think losing a banner on the wall is particularly deflating to those who played and won the 2013 championship game. And I bet they'll tell you in 2030, "Yeah, we won the 2013 title."

THats fine. The players won the game and let them hav it, you cant take it away from them, except you can.

But for Pitino and Louisville it doesn’t count. Pitino should be considered disgraced. For all the crap, he’s just a selfish pig. With him he should be remembered with disdain. AndLousiville sold its soul to a lesser Calipari.

Cornell's head coach at the time always said that the Orange had the best team that money could buy.
