If we're talking about concealed carry, the kids shouldn't even know who'd carrying.

If they know, the teacher is a target for both theft of the gun, and to be the first one gunned down if someone wants to kill people.

As for getting killed by SWAT, or other cops, that kind of thing is very rare. There have been a few cases of undercover cops getting shot, but it's pretty easy for a cop to tell who's an "active shooter".

USCIS, the federal agency responsible for issuing visas and green cards and for naturalizing immigrants as US citizens, has unveiled a new mission statement that strips out all references to immigrants themselves — including taking out a line that called the US a “nation of immigrants.” And in an email to agency staff Thursday, as first reported by the Intercept’s Ryan Devereaux, director L. Francis Cissna bragged about the change — saying that USCIS wasn’t supposed to help immigrants and the US citizens seeking to sponsor them, but rather “the American people."

I don't even know why you're going down this route, since first you said you were against this, then wanted to know why it was bad idea. Now you're back to defending it.

If you are a teacher in front of a roomful of students, your primary responsibility should be those students. Make sure your kids get to safety, then go after the shooter. Even then, there is a big difference - enormous difference - between carrying for self-defense and protection and tracking down a shooter loose in the building. I wouldn't be surprised to find that more than a few concealed carry people have fled active shooter scenes, rather than engage the shooter.

That last bit is just more of you talking out of your ass. You don't know. Please stop making shit up to cover for your ignorance.

Also, you think students don't know which teachers might have a military background or some other reason why they might carry? You really don't know anything about education and you keep proving that time and again. Students tend to be very curious about their teachers and one or more of them are likely to have enough information to at least guess which teachers would carry.

Trump is pushing it now, therefore YankeeFan will defend it.

OOP, they should station you in school hallways. You could just scoldy-scoldy the gunmen until they flee.

I don't know if anyone noticed due to the three way "Oh yes you are/Oh no I'm not", but the armed security at the Florida high school froze and refused to engage. So much for how someone armed on the premises will make the kids safe.

Police swat and tactical teams don't even attempt to clear buildings alone. They move in numbers, typically at least four together, and they don't even try to use pistols against a perp armed with a long gun.

The whole arming teachers debate is a huge red herring. "Hey, look over here, oooh, SHINY... no, don't look at the pile of bodies left behind by the guys with the AR15s!"

Pushing it so 3 million firearms will be sold, 30 million rounds of ammunition, and 3 million holsters and 3 million trigger locks. A billion dollars of profit for gun manufacturers. Not 1 firearms company has offered to donate guns to school teachers or sell at cost. This is a push by the NRA to get taxpayer money.

I think all teachers who need such supplies should have them provided to them, paid for by a new tax on guns and ammunition.
