You might want to refresh yourself with the details of that shooting.

This is an inspiring story for all the writers out there.

Over 10 years after he gave up fiction writing, author lands publishing deal:

A significant number of Americans have completely bought into this fantasy of a 350-million strong badass armed fighting force. One hundred years from now, someone is going to write a hell of a book about the NRA and its insidious (but brilliantly executed) capture of middle America's heart and soul.

Contrary to myth, middle America is now just a flock of sheep

I mean, let's not pretend that Brooklyn and Berkeley are packed to the gills with independent thinkers, either. They are just in lockstep from the other direction.

I am aware that the soldiers in the room weren't carrying. But lots of people at Fort Hood were. From Columbine to Parkland, an armed officer did nothing to stop the shooting. You can't have cops in every room. Parkland has more than 3,000 students. It's a small town.

You give someone a machine gun, a crowded room, and 60 seconds, they're going to be able to kill a lot of people, no matter how many people in the vicinity are armed. The machine gun is the deciding factor.

Yes. And, because it only lasted seconds, we didn't see casualty counts like we saw in Florida.

You might want to refresh yourself with the details of that shooting. Hinckley was using a six-shot revolver.

    Define "a lot".

My understanding is that only the MPs and the civilian police were carrying, and that the soldiers in the room were specifically forbidden to be carrying while on base.

And, if I recall, it was the female civilian cop who helped end the bloodshed.[/QUOTE]

Only a loser would accept casualties in that circumstance. It was a failure.
