President Trump: The NEW one and only politics thread

The fact that arming teachers is even under discussion says a lot about America, and none of it good.

 

The Capitol Police, who were present at the Congressional baseball practice, and were armed with handguns, prevented a massacre.

Maybe they should have taken a defensive position, until officers with heavier weapons could have responded to the scene.

 

I'm curious about who we are going to arm to prevent the 90-95 percent of gun massacres that don't take place at schools.

 

More guns.

 

I know it does. And, when Rubio made the same point at the CNN town hall, people applauded the idea.

But, it's not a winning political position, and never has been.

 

I'm convinced. Everyone in America should be carrying a piece at all times. It is merely serendipitous that this will result in many, many more guns being sold by many, many manufacturers.

 

Not "arming" teachers. Allowing armed teachers to carry on campus.

It's a distinction, that folks are curiously unwilling to make.

 

I wonder who the badass mofos are on my wife's faculty of about thirty 5-foot-4 women.

 

That doesn’t make America look good either.

 

The Capitol shooting perpetrator was not carrying an AR-15, but rather an ancient SKS. Technically a semi-automatic rifle, in the same way a kid's Power Wheel is technically a car. And it was 3-on-1. And they still didn't actually shoot him, they just pinned him down until more help could arrive.

 

The gun debate is unwinnable from either side.

I’m just sad that this is what America is. And has been for quite some time.

 

Trained security guard =/= trained combat shooter.

Now, about the insurance and liability questions ...
