Even our most beloved Christmas movie is about a kid who wants a gun and the hilarity that ensues.

You are expecting them to act like cops when you/trump give them gun and want them to stop a shooter right?
Then why arm them and expect them to stop a shooter--even on the off chance that the shooter turns up in their room? Even people who are familiar and comfortable with guns need a lot of practice time. Will we have a requirement for everyone to spend a certain amount of time at the range?

I don't know the difference between a licensed and unlicensed seller, but if I'm reading that right, a kid can buy a gun off an unlicensed seller with no minimum. Like the kid in that clip, I guess.

But there’s no minimum age to purchase a long gun from a unlicensed seller.

I don't see an issue with raising the age to purchase a weapon to 21, so long as using one with a parent or guardian is allowed, so that fathers and sons can go hunting, etc.

But, it's ludicrous to me that some are arguing for lowering the voting age to 16, while also arguing for raising the age to purchase a gun.

The age to vote, purchase alcohol, purchase a gun, and serve in the military should all be the same.
