My grandfather was the GM of Hamilton National Bank back during WWII in Knoxville, and every Friday he and an armed guard would drive out to some spot in the woods that wasn't on a map and stop at a gate and set up a card table and spend all afternoon handing out envelopes full of cash to people who only had numbers, not names, to give him. He swore to the day he died he had no idea what they were doing behind that gate until the bomb dropped on Hiroshima.

The Canadian skip did not burn the rock, she removed it when the opponent burned it, which she has the right to do. She shouldn’t have removed it, the touching of the rock had no effect on where it finished.

No medlas in men’s hockey and curling, you could have won a lot of money betting on that.

For those who both snowboard and ski, how different are the two?

The broadcaster is talking about Ledecka competing in two “totally different” sports.

I imagine to excel at that level in both is unique, but are they really that different?

It’s not like she’s skiing and skating.
