I read a week or so ago that Gionta and Wisniewski (sp?) expected -- or were hoping -- to be signed within a day of the Olympics ending.

    Stastny to the Peg. Whoa.

Probably in the minority here, but I consider Stastny's time in St. Louis underwhelming, especially at $7 million per.

Erik Karlsson stays put. So does Mike Green. The Caps will continue to roll the corpse of Brooks Orpik out there in the third D pair. *vomit*

I watched about the first four hours of Hockey Central Trade Deadline. The consensus seemed to be Karlsson was a pretty sure bet to go. One exception was a correspondent in Ottawa.

There was talk Green might end up in Vegas re-connecting with McPhee.

I really enjoy Hockey Central Trade Deadline every year. Would have watched longer but had to get on with my day.

McDonagh to the Lightning if they beat the deadline.

I’d say he put up decent numbers for a guy coached by Ken Hitchcock until this season.

Japers Rink called for the Caps to fire Barry Trotz this morning.

For the first time, I'm not sure I disagree. I think he's lost some of that dressing room. Two wholly unprofessional performances in the last two weeks, not to mention to the horrible gacked leads against Winnipeg and Florida.

Give Rierdan a shot. I don't think Trotz survives anyway if the Caps have another early playoff exit, which they're careening toward if you look at the underlying fancy stats.

I guess @dixiehack must not be around much these days as our Predators are proving to be one of the most entertaining teams across all sports.

Last night's 3-goal 3rd period comeback against their top competitor was one for the ages.
