Nearly 20 straight years of primetime series TV, probably on a short-list of actresses in that category. You would think that would get you more than a net worth of $8m.

I’ve always been a huge fan of Courtney Thorne-Smith but I didn’t watch Melrose Place. She was her excellent self in Sideout, the beach volleyball movie.

Don’t forget her starring turn on According to Jim!

She really deserved an Emmy for that - making her marrying Belushi believable.

I too have always wondered about this. The bad cases are so bad, it must be like a disease, because it looks terrible.

But they have to think it looks good, right?

And, to counter your original point, I think certain plastic surgery, in moderation, is just fine. It’s so good, in fact, you don’t notice it.

I think that it's sort of like tattoos. They do it once, and unless it turns out just awful they can't resist trying a little more. Then they decide to try something more extensive, or the plastic surgeon upsells them on it, and the next thing you know they look like Meg Ryan.

When I come to think of it, she made a career out of making guys who weren't in her league think they had a chance. Nerds, Carrott Top, Ally McBeal, etc. etc.
