President Trump: The NEW one and only politics thread

I keep reading hints that they have contradicted and embarrassed themselves. The right is concerned about them. What have they said?

P.S. The kids being drafted were right about Vietnam. The experts in the government were tragically wrong.

Correct. Dick’s is where you go to buy your kid a catcher’s mitt or a last-minute tailgate game.

 

The Dicks up the road eliminated it's gun section 15 years ago, not too long after it opened, in NJ.

 

I've mostly bought bike gear there ... got a good deal on a trunk rack and an under-the-seat bag. Might pick up the occasional golf item there as well.

 

DSG is an odd duck in the big box sporting goods/outdoors world. Like Academy, it tries to play in both the team sports and outdoors realm. Academy is tilted (at least in the stores I've visited) toward the outdoors, while DSG is tilted to team sports and fitness. DSG has a giant baseball and softball glove section right by the front door now. Academy has a larger display than usual, but it pales in comparison. But Academy's hunting and fishing section takes up five times as much square footage as DSG's.

Anyway, like you were saying, it won't hurt them that much. And will free up shelf space for more profitable items for their core customers.

 

Our local Dick's is connected to a Field & Stream, which sells all the hunting stuff. But yeah, the Dick's part is mostly gear, including golf clubs and running clothes.

 

I don't believe they embarrassed themselves. Although YF's point about possibly overplaying their hand is somewhat valid. America has a knack for loving you one minute and wishing you'd go the hell away a moment later.

They weren't acting as experts. They were acting as power-hungry people with an agenda. Same thing they do today.

 

Running list of things @YankeeFan is currently gravely concerned about:

• Whether the Parkland students are being exploited;
• Dick’s Sporting Goods’ stock performance.

 

How did they overplay their hand?
