I'm OK with that, but that's not going to happen. Your assumption that everything about this investigation is going to be reported live is odd. The indictments that were issued revealed plenty of new information that wasn't previously reported.

DiFi's best move may have been handing him a sheet of paper showing exactly what was in her bill.

He's not a hard-liner on any issue. He's infinitely malleable. So the question is: Why is he veering left on this one?

Did Trump even mention arming teachers in today's dog and pony show?

To some degree it's a case of "Men and boys and the price of their toys". Many of these guys, to one degree or another played Army as a kid with a stick and pine cone grenades, and now they can shoot a real Army gun for fun. And it's a fun gun to shoot.

Eh, sorta. No, it's not a particularly good hunting weapon, particularly in .223. OTOH, some guys hunt with it to get practical shooting experience with one. As to the muzzle velocity, traditional hunting calibers like .270, 7 mm mag, .308, 30-06, all have similar velocity. It's just that they are intended to drop game with one accurate shot, maybe two, not to put ten rounds out fast.

I remember a video where a guy put two watermelons on a table, stepped off fifty yards or so, and shot one with an AK. It blew out some of the back, and after three shots it cracked and fell to pieces. He then shot the other with a 7 mm magnum. The watermelon basically vaporized, leaving maybe the bottom quarter of the rind on the table. The rest was just gone.

.308 is a pretty popular caliber for AR's with the guys who want more range and/or knockdown power. In bolt action, that cartridge is popular as a sniper rifle for the military and SWAT.

The bottom line remains that the AR/AK is a purpose built mankiller, not a hunting design.

You can buy pink tupperware for your AR. Lots of wives and daughters have, or baby blue, something like that. Same for pistols. Pistols marketed for women tend to fit a guy with smaller hands, and you get guys carrying them as well.
