I don't do scary either. I wasn't planning to see "Get Out" when it was first released but so many friends loved it, so I was very curious. I had a friend tell me the entire plot before I saw it, which would ruin it for some (most? all?) people but it made it OK for me to watch. It's more of a thriller than scary.

Not really scary, but very suspenseful. Especially if you don't really know much about it going in. You sit there waiting for something to happen, wondering what's going on. And then when all hell breaks loose, you're more WTF than AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!

Just saw Phantom Thread. I'm going to rank it No. 2 on the list. I think it might be the best movie of the year, but not the one I liked the most. Just exquisitely made, fantastic costumes, beautiful settings, great performances by all. By the end the story is revealed to be a bit more of a creepfest than you every imagined. It definitely does not have anything to say like Get Out, Three Billboards, Lady Bird, The Shape of Water, or The Post. It's a moviegoers movie. It tells its own story and features great acting. Any other year I think Daniel Day-Lewis and the movie itself would be great threats to win.

ABC's livestream is already over capacity and won't load. That's not good.

Come on, don't you like movies? I don't go to the theater a lot (more lately) I mostly see them at home and especially love the oldies, but movies are great. I think the people in them are pretty sincere in their work effort and wanting to bring stories to the screen.
