It's not just the crying. It's how, when things don't go his way, he gets all liquid-eyed and basically goes catatonic for some length of time.

Also wondering why the hell Rick & Co. don't just set out for Tennessee or Kentucky or somewhere, just put some miles between them and the Saviors.

I've thought the same thing so many times watching this show. Of course, the easy answer is if they moved the show would end as we know it. But you would think that the natural thing would be to leave and try to find greener pastures. It's a big ass country, I'm sure there are plenty of places that are just as appealing as the Hilltop or Alexandria and don't have the Saviors to deal with.

Why would it end? They've moved before, from Atlanta to Virginia. They have moved on further in the comics.

Don't want to post spoilers in the non-comic thread, but they're still living in the same places in the comics. They've explored, but they haven't moved on.

My bad. Still, they have moved, from Atlanta to Virginia, so moving on again is possible.

What I meant is that once they find a place that doesn't have a Governor or Negan (IE someone who opposes their group), then what's the point of continuing the show? I mean, I guess they could go back to Rick & Crew vs. Zombies in a fight for survival (which is what got me in the first place, not this village vs. village stuff), but I don't think they'd do that.

At this point, I'd be more interested in a show that revolves around them trying to rebuild humanity than a show that revolves around them battling with every group of survivors they run across. But that's clearly just my opinion.

I get it. I'm just saying they could just as easily find a new group of antagonists in a new location.

They tried to cut and run once and Abraham and Glenn got killed, right? Isn't that what made them realize they had to destroy the Saviors? I guess at this point they've weakened them enough to bail, but it's become so personal, there's no reason to think the Saviors wouldn't pursue them.

I liked how Negan played the news of Coral's death. He seemed to genuinely care about it, but he never misses a chance to use something like that to his advantage. He played it exactly as Negan should have.

I do wonder if there's more to the trash heap than it being simply a dump. Simon asked about the solar panels and helipad in the back. Rick said Jadis can't help them anymore anyway, but there's a reason the writers had her survive. I get the feeling there's more in that trash heap to come.

I agree, and I guess that's kind of what Carl was getting at. There has to be more than just fending off other groups of survivors to make life worth living. That's why I'm kind of disappointed that, after the cliffhanger at the CDC, the show runners made it clear that the show was never going to be about curing the zombie apocalypse or discovering what started it. At this point, the show does need a direction besides fighting other groups of survivors.

I rarely watch The Talking Dead because the host (his name escapes me and I'm too lazy to google it) annoys me with his fanboy demeanor. But he did ask Kirkman if there's more to the Trash People than we've seen or is their story over, and Kirkman pleaded the fifth, saying he couldn't say anything without giving huge spoilers. So, I'm guessing you're right, I think they'll discover that the Trash People were living a lot better than it appeared and that their simple-minded ways were just an act to throw people off.

I'm willing to bet the helicopter we saw last fall came from their place. And once again Rick guessed wrong by not saving Jadis and it'll come back to haunt him. Of course, Simon didn't do the Saviors any favors by eliminating all but Jadis. Who knows where her story takes her but I'm certain she will play a part in whatever direction the show takes.

Negan absolutely schooled Rick in their conversation.
