Those numbers really don't mean much --- to the NRA crowd, and in relevance to the rest of us.

The NRA will argue that banning guns will turn "self-defense" homicides to zero, while the bad guy will still get his gun and shoot his dozens.

And even in, say, Parkland, had the authorities actually GONE IN and shot the shooter, he still would have been only ONE dead, while he would likely have killed a few before being stopped.

So the numbers will ALWAYS skew against the "justifiable homicide" killings, even in the best of circumstances. One person is trying to kill more than one. It's elementary math.

 

There were very fine people on both sides of the women's march.

 

I get it. But how do you shame people who are incapable of shame? How do insult people who think intelligence and education are a weakness? How do you get through to people who believe the earth is flat, the planet is 6000 years old and Jesus walked with dinosaurs? How do make fun of people who believe there are 2 sides to racism and anti-semitism and violence is option #1 in most situations?

How do you get through to people who celebrate killing Doctors who perform abortions but won’t pay taxes to feed a starving child?
