    This has been so interesting me. Basically, Peter Navarro is now running the economics show , which will allow the nationalistic, tarriffs, trade war idiocy to ramp up probably, and all of Trump's worst base instincts aren't going to be kept in check by anyone, and economically that is just bad news.

    At the same time, the way that Gary Cohn has been lionized seems so wrong to me. Everyone loved him in there because he's an adult, has capital markets experience, etc. At the same time, though, that tax bill was all him -- it would have never happened without him. ... and that is the rub for me. Before everyone settles on this narrative that he was some sort of economic savior that was going to keep this clown show White House in check, people need to wake up to the fact that what he made happen was massive tax cuts (i.e. -- a reduction of revenue coming into the Treasury) at the same time that they are ramping up spending, and all at a time that we had doubled our debt over the last decade. Economically, what Gary Cohn presided over was "feel good" stuff, but it was fiscally irresponsible.

    But yeah, Gary Cohn was a relative adult compared to say Peter Navarro, who uses an economics PhD to espouse absolute stupidity that flies in the face of common sense, let alone basic macroeconomic fact.

    So if Stormy has dick pics and video, imagine what Russia has. She's a porn star in this country, obviously sex makes her money. Trump's a married billionaire. Why on earth would he allow that to happen? What kind of judgement does that show?

    If he was in a hotel room in Moscow, half a world away, and no one is waving an i-phone around, do you think his judgement would have been better?

    Frum, a former neocom, who coined the term "axis of evil" -- which included North Korea -- is now terrified by the site of a neocon. Sort of funny, considering there are currently no neocons in the administration, Hillary Clinton was the neocon in the previous election, and was supported by Frum, and I'm not sure why, when Trump ignores his economic advisor on tariffs, we're supposed to be worried that he's nuke the North Koreans just to please John Bolton.

    Bolton as NSA would be the single worst hire in an administration not noted for good ones. Instead of being an adult who would damp down Trump's worst and most impulsive impulses, he'd be feeding the fire and adding even more lunacy.
