    Carlos Gonzalez returns to Rockies

So looks like that leaves Jake Arrieta, Lance Lynn, Alex Cobb, Jonathan Lucroy, Greg Holland and Neil Walker among the semi-big name free agents still available.

Figure Lynn and Cobb will be the consolation prizes for whoever doesn't sign Arrieta, assuming Arrieta ever does sign.

I feel strongly my Nats are going to sign one of them.

Note I said I feel strongly, not that I feel happy or pleased or excited.

The Royals got Moose, Jay and Duda for $13 million total.

I like what they are doing. If these guys can contend, fantastic. But if not, they've got a lot of tradable pieces to restock the farm system.

Royals master plan to return to the World Series:

    And FAP!

This is a little more grown-up and respectable, at least, than when their 2014 World Series run allegedly almost ended because of a team-wide Clash Of Clans obsession.

I read the Padres might be in on Arrieta. This leads me to two thoughts:

1.) If this happens, the next SJ outing an Arrieta start in San Diego and @Dick Whitman & @outofplace are gonna organize it.

2.) Is there anything better than the Padres never sticking to their plan? We suck we suck we're gonna suck we're gonna rebuild the right way LET'S SIGN ALL THE UPTONS AND JAMES SHIELDS TOO WE'RE ALL IN oh shit we sucked we're gonna suck for a long time let's rebuild the right way LET'S SIGN ERIC HOSMER WHO IS AS OVERRATED AS THE DAY IS LONG AND THEN GO GET JAKE ARRIETA HOOWAAAAA

I came here to see if the Orioles did anything today and got Pornhub news.

    Lose-lose or win-win.

It’s the new market inefficiency: Laundering cheap free agents into mid-season trades for prospects.
