So looks like that leaves Jake Arrieta, Lance Lynn, Alex Cobb, Jonathan Lucroy, Greg Holland and Neil Walker among the semi-big name free agents still available.

Figure Lynn and Cobb will be the consolation prizes for whoever doesn't sign Arrieta, assuming Arrieta ever does sign.

 

I feel strongly my Nats are going to sign one of them.

















Note I said I feel strongly, not that I feel happy or pleased or excited.

I read the Padres might be in on Arrieta. This leads me to two thoughts:

1.) If this happens, the next SJ outing an Arrieta start in San Diego and @Dick Whitman & @outofplace are gonna organize it.

2.) Is there anything better than the Padres never sticking to their plan?
