You're not arguing it, I guess? Only me?

Anyone with half a brain understands that Radford didn't get a real Tournament win last night. They can call it what they want. No self-respecting coach would claim it as a Tournament win.

I think we're on to something. I'd definitely watch if the women's game went to eight one-minute quarters periods.

UConn would still win by 25.

Teams get paid (and it usually goes into the conference pot) for each round they play. Do they get a full share for the play-in games? I’m too lazy to look it up, but it’s potentially another reason little schools would like it.

They do. And that's why they like it.

Coaches at that level are not kidding themselves. They are not playing the same game at Presbyterian that they are at Duke. There is zero chance to win a national championship. It helps separate you from your peers at that level.

You think that schools aren't looking at those games when they're looking for potential coaching candidates? Radford is never winning a national championship. But Mike Jones needs that win if he's looking to find his way to a CUSA school, which might in turn lead to an SEC job down the road. It's very much a "real win" for those guys.

It's a real win, but to pretend it's a real Tournament win is a joke. It's like when an announcer breathlessly tells me that Brandon Crawford or some other schmuck now has more postseason hits than (insert Hall of Famer here).

    Please.

    Fine, that's fair middle ground.

There's no way I would sternly correct Mrs. Wilson about ANYTHING on March 14. Might ruin what little chance I do have on this most looked-forward-to holiday.
