Lamb has said he is personally opposed to abortion. As I am and I imagine a goodly many people here.
He framed it as a personal conviction rather than a public policy stance.
    And downplayed many similar issues.
    That is the difference.

folks like rick say they are for civil liberties on one hand, and think punching nazis is okay on the other. progressive folks like rick are also all talk and no action.

Civil liberties are a legal issue. Anyone who punched a Nazi should be punished legally the same as anyone who punches someone should be.

If the Nazi is allowed to speak, then I punch the Nazi in the nose for what he/she/they said, then I'm arrested and tried and sentenced for punching the Nazi in the nose, everyone's "civil liberties" have been observed.

Including Chicken Dinner's, when he/she/it then posts a complaint about the whole thing on a message board.

So who will our new U.N. Representative be? >grin< Haley will probably survive, she's something of a favorite, but Trump will be raging anyhow.

This sounds exactly right, and should have been said days ago:

"If we don't take immediate concrete measures to address this now, Salisbury will not be the last place we see chemical weapons used," said Haley. "They could be used here in New York or in cities of any country that sits on this council."

"This is a defining moment," she continued. "Time and time again, member states say they oppose the use of chemical weapons under any circumstance. Now one member stands accused of using chemical weapons on the sovereign soil of another member. The credibility of this council will not survive if we fail to hold Russia accountable."

Same position as Biden and Kerry, to name just two. It's a standard take among male Catholic Democratic office holders or seekers.

Rick seems as unwilling to compromise as the people he holds in contempt.
I'm talking about finding a golden mean, being at least open-minded to compromise, not Dumb Donald's 'dealmaking' or your inchoate demands, either.
They could have had their tax cut without scorching the earth on everything else. You likewise can have his fat ass on a plate by making a few concessions.

Correct. Compromise is dead and they killed it. They killed it when they blocked Gorsuch, and they desecrated the corpse when they elected Donald Trump. There is nothing to be gained by attempting it.
