S2 Ep1 Jessica Jones. Slow 1st episode but I still like her the best of the Defenders.

It's an interesting season, but I think the writers could have sped things along a bit, or packed more in. More than a few redundancies. I do like the Netflix Marvel stuff better than the movies because they're more character-driven and don't feel the need to throw in a special effects battle every 20 minutes.

I wouldn't say I like them better, but they are very different. Pacing always seems to be an issue with the Netflix shows, and season 2 of Jessica Jones was no different. I think they could have done more with some characters that fell away early on or done the whole season in 10 episodes instead of 13. I did enjoy it, though not as much as the first season. That is no surprise. I didn't expect them to find an antagonist who could match Killgrave.

I would have done more with Cheng, the rival PI - and surprised there were zero crossovers from other shows. Nice Stan Lee cameo at the bus depot.

There was the brief visit from a supporting character from one of the other shows in Hogarth's office, but I was also surprised there wasn't more. It couldn't be Daredevil for obvious reasons (If you saw the end of Defenders), but where was everybody else?

A couple shows not mentioned recently (I don't think, anyhow ...)

    * Crashing season 2 finale was great. I hope we get at least another season of it.
    * Atlanta is back. Atlanta is still awesome.
    * I'm watching Homeland purely for the Richmond landmarks at this point, though it's been OK this season. The house they used in the last episode as the home of the FBI wife is about five blocks away from mine. Totally went and sought it out last night. They probably thought I was creeping.

  7. Started Season 2 of Sneaky Pete on Prime.
Stars Giovanni Ribisi and has a number of folks from Justified in it.

I think part of the charm is that each of these shows has such a strong sense of place, as if the stories couldn't have occurred anywhere else (if that makes sense).

You'll be glad to know Crashing was renewed by HBO for Season 3.

Caught the premiere of "Rise" - can easily be described as a cross between FNL and Glee, I wish it wasn't so easy to describe it that way. Another problem, the least interesting character in it is the lead.

Maybe that is a requirement for shows with Josh Radnor. Is the main character also an asshole like Ted Mosby?
