Their continued goal is to not *need* a majority. They need to hold onto their core base of white racists and whites who don't think they're racist, and make sure that group gets the majority of the power due to intrinsic racist power structures.

After the 2018 election, there's roughly a 40% chance they'll control the House, Senate and Presidency while being outvoted and not getting more than 46.5% of the votes cast for any of them. And that's *with* their wide-ranging voter suppression efforts.

 

Given that politicians have been so protective of pensions, it's good to see they are thinking of each other during tough times.
