I was told having an armed resource officer on campus would be a deterrent to bad guys and cowards.

Is the president misinformed?

 

This shooter had a handgun, not an assault rifle. He also still managed to shoot two people before the armed resource officer stopped him.

Also, and this is all meant as a response to Rainman, I haven't seen arguments against armed resource officers. The argument has been against arming teachers. Perhaps Rainman should educate himself regarding the difference.
