The question was about the porn star I think, not issues. Personal morality. God, family, that kind of stuff.

And it never occurred to me that the things you mentioned had anything to do with morality---other than maybe abortion. I am against the death penalty because I don't believe it works. Same with criminal justice reform. Always need to look at ways to do that better. Same sex, bathroom, safe in their jobs--all the gay stuff, that is civil rights. equal pay? wtf not? These just seem like they should be automatic, we just happen to be getting around to doing them. (most of them)
Weird, I never really think of those as moral stances, just the right thing to do. But you can call it that, I really won't argue the point.

But you have to admit the "family values", I think that is their words, or "moral majority", those are the people on the right.

I think they have lost that claim when they support trump. I would respect them if they said "yeah we know he is a pig but he is getting us everything we want and we don't care about moral behavior right now"

 

To be fair - I think that was what a lot of Ds felt when Clinton was in office as well. Since then, the party has taken a pretty hard line on legislators engaged in that stuff. They don't tend to last too long.

 

Was just sitting in a diner. The TV hanging from the ceiling is tuned into CNN, featuring the Stormy Daniels story.

Youngest son, 10, reads the chyron. "What's a porn star?" he asks.

I'm starting to lean toward Trump not being under Putin's sway due to a blackmail threat toward Trump being an "accomplice" if not outright "capo."

I pulled the chute and said it was "a kind of movie star." Which isn't a lie. He doesn't know what sex is—well, he knows what it is, but he thinks people do it to make babies, not for fun—and he certainly wouldn't understand why anyone would watch other people have sex. Which, when you think about it, is kind of weird. It was a big ball of shit that I didn't want to try to field while I was eating my patty melt, basically.

 

Yeah, it's the same as when Obama congratulated Putin. Right.
