To be fair, wouldn't this be akin to someone wanting to speak at the March for Life about how they hate abortion but think it's legality coupled with sex education is the best way to promote life across the board?

It is very much in the interest of every police officer to drastically reduce the number of firearms in this country. One reason (hardly the only) there are so many incidents of cops shooting unarmed civilians is that cops are well aware how many civilians are armed.

 

This. Even in the hands of trained professionals, more guns will always lead to more people being shot on a large scale. Small anomalies where a shooting prevents more shooting will always be a blip in the larger trend.

 

I’m at home with my kids. But I bet I’m missing out on a lot of weekend fun! Should have thought of myself first.
