The NBA when teams had a single road jersey and single home jersey and shorts didn't go down to your knees.

And lots of '80s sports logos ...

There are many other examples I'll think of later.

    Oh, and the Quebec Nordiques.

Conference play meaning you played every team in the conference.

It’s not everything, you dolt. Man I hate that expression and won’t miss it when it’s gone.

Meanwhile, I miss the SuperSonics jerseys, hot foots in the dugout, scheduled baseball doubleheaders, early afternoon playoff games in baseball, and not knowing that football often leads to CTE.

I also miss the Big East games between Georgetown and Syracuse, the Red Sox-Yankees rivalry when it still seemed to mean something, the Olympics without professional players from the major sports, wooden rackets in tennis, baseball records that seemed iconic and untainted like 755, a sportswriting world that wasn’t oversaturated with halfwit bloggers, and not knowing what Twitter is.

I also miss Frank Deford and David Halberstam.

Seven pages into a thread that starts with a bullpen cart and no one's posted this yet?

    Such a great pick.

I'd expand that to arenas that had character, and weren't real comfortable for fans.

    The Met Center
    St. Louis Arena
    The Forum
    Maple Leaf Garden
    Boston Garden

In boxing, one world champion at each weight, but I'd settle for when it was just the WBA and WBC and no super champions, regular champions, interim champions and stuff like that.

Those bullpen carts are going to eat up whatever time saving measures MLB has tried to install.

I miss the Olympics (both) only happening every four years. You don't even have a chance to miss them before NBC trots out the promos for the next one. It used to be rare when an athlete was in a second Olympics because they had to move on with their lives and get a job that paid.

Stadiums and arenas that were different enough that you could figure out where a game was being played with one look.

Being able to go to a sporting event and look more than 6 inches without seeing an advertisement.

Plain white boards and clean ice in hockey, except for the team logo, and blue or green outfield walls.

Not paying more to park at an event than I did for the ticket.
