Ready Player One - well done Spielberg. Ode to the 80's while set in the near future. I liked it. (in my recliner lounge with my feet up.)

Finally got around to Lady Bird. A perfectly fine, enjoyable little movie. Good performances, a nice sense of place, everything you want in an indie lite film.

The only slight criticism I have is that it seems to have the impression that no one anywhere has ever done a coming-of-age film before. Or other words, it's mildly self-important but since this reflects the main character, it's not that bad.

That's true of most coming-of-age films, but I can imagine that's also true of Greta Gerwig, the writer/director, who isn't a good actor and never has been and yet has been told, many times by many people, she is.

That said, she wrote and directed a good movie here. I liked it. And she was wise enough to cast a great actor as herself.

I was big fan of Hard to Kill. Hadn't seen Marked for Death in a long time. It's a bad B movie. And Segal is worst. It's even worse now, knowing he's such a scumbag.
But ..a young Danny Trejo is in the opening scene of the movie ...

    Still terrible.

Recently saw Baby Driver and loved it. The camera almost dances with Baby through most of the film. Really well done.

Also saw Kingsman: The Golden Circle and I would have been terribly disappointed if I hadn't already seen the bad reviews. It was pretty terrible. I wanted to like it, but it just didn't have the same charm as the first one.

I caught The Patriot on HBO or something a few years back. No, not Mel Gibson’s The Patriot. Steven Seagal’s The Patriot. He plays Dr. Wesley McClaren. Good luck getting through that.

Dwayne Johnson hasn't had a movie released theatrically that hasn't hit $100 mil in 5 years. (He had one straight to DVD clunker in that span). Rampage would be his ninth in a row.
