    The results are not pre-determined.

If there were a “Things you miss about medical care” thread, would “General Hospital” go on there?

On a personal level, living in the central time zone from a sports viewing perspective. With a 9:20 start tonight, there is no way I'll be conscious to see the finish. Same with NBA, baseball playoffs, etc.

Clearly you haven't watched enough gymnastics. Not that I'm recommending you do.

But the outcome is not scripted. It is a legitimate competition.

There is a big difference between that and Homoerotic Performance Art for Rednecks merely pretending to be competition.

Did I ever say the outcomes in Jump 'n' Tumble for Pedophiles are scripted?

I miss the joy I used to have attending sporting events.

My wife is involved with an exchange student program and we brought two teens from Germany and Denmark to the Lakers-Kings game last night. Despite some G League-level play and the most prominent player being 90-year-old Vince Carter, they were beaming. They said they never could imagine watching a game in Staples Center and how friends and family back home would be so jealous that they were there.

To me, it was just another game among the hundreds of pro sporting events I've attended in my life.

Yeah some times they are, same as bodybuilding.

Professional wrestling is scripted entertainment. It belongs on a sports page or discussion no more or less than Chandler and Joey seeing how long they could play catch without the ball dropping on the ground. Now, I loved that episode. But I don't need it to be on a sports thread to validate me.

Jack Buck once said something along the lines of, "We're going to pause for station identification, but I'll wait until after the next pitch so board operators across the network can run back to the studio."

It's funny how many times they pause for station identification, there are 10 seconds of dead air, then the ID is snuck in between pitches.
