They could've put a player above the arc lobbed it in and had the player, her back to the basket, 2-hand underhand pump it over her head and toward the rim. It's 1 in a gazillion odds but still offers a chance.

I guess we are spared, going forward, from "Does UConn's dominance hurt the sport?" debates for a while?

They haven't even reached the title game the last two seasons.

I think Villanova wins tonight in a blowout.

I do, too, unless they go completely cold from outside, which can happen to a jump-shooting team.

But everyone in the starting lineup can shoot from outside, as can the Italian guy who comes off the bench.

Villanova has been the best team in the country all season.

They haven't won a Final Four game since 2016!

I saw somewhere that Geno is 11-8 in national semifinals and 11-0 in championship games.

I assume that's irony. "Undefeated until the Final Four" sounds like a dominant team to me.

Predictably, I don't think that's the case. They were 6-3 in February, including a 3-3 stretch, during which a certain nameless other team went 5-1 with three road wins over tournament teams. However, it's also worth pointing out that Phil Booth was missing for most of that stretch. They're very clearly the best team now and had the longest stretch as the best team.

Not in a way that makes the sport uninteresting. The idea was that no one else had a chance to win the national championship, so why watch? That's not the case any longer.

We're talking about the best basketball team, not the best wrestling team.
