"republican commissar with a steakhouse waistline " is one of the great phrases ever.

Price of gas up $.50 cents a gallon in the past two months.
    Stock market taking.
Price of most consumer goods sure to rise, thanks to Trump's tarifs.
Good thing most got that $700 temporary tax break, to offset the extra money they'll have to pay on other goods and services.
    More winning!

Also, those very same car companies worked closely with the Obama Administration to come up with these standards and then subsequently praised them frequently in the press.

Maybe the timeline isn't as strict or there won't be penalties, but there is a reason no one is in a rush to bring back the Hummer.

Peters gets no pass. He spent plenty of time boosting Putin. Not a whole lot of daylight between stuff Peters has said in the past and Trump's comments on immigration, North Korea, Russia etc. And even then, some of his comments about Obama weren't any more sane than the stuff Trump has said. I'm genuinely curious about what really caused his change of opinion.

Sadly, he is not out of line with the sort of people -- Falwell et al -- who sit on his council of religious elders. He is simply more explicit.
Trumpists worship guns more than the teachings of the one they purport to follow.

It's gonna be amazing when the Dow surges again, the caravan of illegals stops, the new Rasmussen shows another approval gain, all timed with @YankeeFan's return. It would have been a really difficult month to be the consummate defender. Great timing on that gaslighting.

Poll: 77 percent say major news outlets report 'fake news'

President Donald Trump is not alone in thinking media outlets spread "fake news."

More than 3-in-4 of 803 American respondents, or 77 percent, said they believe that major traditional television and newspaper media outlets report “fake news,” according to a Monmouth University poll released Monday, marking a sharp increase in distrust of those news organizations from a year ago, when 63 percent registered concerns about the spread of misinformation.

    1. Poll questions like this are stupid. 2. Americans as a group are stupendously ignorant. 3. Every con man who lived knows it's the people who think everything's a fake that are the easiest to fool.
