The Walking Dead Star Who Actually Requested To Be Killed Off

Jeffrey DeMunn, who played Dale, claims he asked for his character to be killed off in Season 2. He said he did it because he was too angry to continue after Frank Darabont's forced departure from the show.

After watching it again (my wife and kid talked through the first viewing), I've changed my stance on this episode. It was OK. But it was still pretty bad. Like you said, the Hilltop had JUST BEEN ATTACKED by the Saviors and here they are a few hours later sleeping soundly in their beds. Not one person keeping watch. And now, all of a sudden zombies' ability to sneak up on people has been raised by 150%? For years, you could hear the zombies coming from a mile away, now they can sneak up on people like ninjas and bite them before they even know what's happening.

The biological warfare angle would be great, if they hadn't introduced some many seasons back that they could slather themselves in zombie guts and escape through the pack without any issues. Nobody got sick from that. And like you said, they could take Hershel's leg with a bloody axe and he didn't turn.

I watch this show and wonder if there's ANYBODY in that writing room that ever takes the time to point out the inconsistencies. And like you said, the doctor in Season 1 (or was it Season 2?) confirmed that everyone has the virus, and once you die you turn. I mean, it's what made the premise of the show so damn interesting to me. The walking dead outnumbers the living by a huge margin and is constantly growing.

I know the writers seem to think they set it up with Gabriel getting sick from walker guts, but you are right. They aren't even trying to respect the continuity of the show. It feels like a big middle finger to the audience members who have been there since the first season.

I'm now convinced that the real reason Carl had to die was so that Negan could inherit his plot armor.

Why didn’t Jadis just kill Negan?

Why ask silly questions like that? You know why! Just like Morgan knows what IT is. Don't focus on all the holes in the story. LOL

That said, I did enjoy some of the callbacks to previous seasons of TWD. But overall, another crappy episode with horrible writing.

I think the remainder of this thread should be in blue font. That's kinda how I feel about this show now.

But I've been around this long, so I'll at least stick around for this season.
