Always nice to find some common ground. :)

I seem to recall he was not a fan of Karen Crouse, or the way she and the NYTimes covered the Jets.

He was pretty straight-forward about that, though. Hardly seemed like "trolling." I thought it was a legitimate topic of discussion here.

Karen Crouse is amazing. I will fight anybody, anytime, to defend her.

I don't think Boom objected to her work, in a vacuum.

He objected to it as Jets beat reporting, in the absence of nuts and bolts Jets beat reporting.

Back in the day I had a boss who was going to NYC and asked me for a great restaurant recommendation; out of a lark I reached out to Boom. Soon enough, both Boom and 21 were hitting me back with restaurant suggestions, then once my boss picked a place, one of them got him a reservation. I can't remember which one, but there was some back-and-forth between all three of us and I'll be damned if they were the same person.

You think they were or were not the same person?

I'm pretty convinced they were two people.

Great storyteller. Great feature writer. It's a reasonable critique of her work as a beat writer.

The Daily News and the Post cover the Jets beat like a traditional beat.

I think the Times tried to move away from that as a business experiment.

Really has nothing to do with Karen Crouse.
