I actually have come to agree with OOP on this issue. Pats are down both offensive tackles, two wideouts, their second-best DB and have a super linebacker (Hightower) who gets hurt a lot. They need a number of competent replacements, not one superstar or super-touted rookie high draft pick.

The Pats aren't down that much. Cannon was the starter at RT and Amendola was about the fifth receiving option at the start of the season. I don't think any major trades are coming up, but they don't have the huge holes. Good chance Belichick trades early picks to teams moving up for picks next year.

That's what I was thinking as well, though the speculation is all over the place. That makes sense because we haven't seen the Patriots deal with finding a long-term quarterback for many, many years. They had Bledsoe when Belichik arrived. I can't imagine Brady was really the plan until Bledsoe got hurt, but they haven't needed a plan since.

"The cool thing about the Broncos is the people that work at the Broncos encourage you to be yourself," King said Thursday. "That is real cool. Players play a lot better when they can let their hair down and be themselves. It's cool. They encourage it."

I remember when people said this about playing for the Raiders.
