On top of that, everyone needs a home-opening series during the first week or 10 days of the season.

And as much as people say they shouldn't play early April games in cold-weather cities, the warm-weather teams don't want a bunch of April home games, which would given them fewer home games during peak attendance time of June and July, when kids are out of school.

Kole Calhoun seems like he has 15 putouts today.

Andrew Miller just abused Trout on 3 pitches, 2 runners on, 2-2 bottom-8.

Zack Cozart homers in the bottom of the 13th to end it. 3-2 Angels. Great win for the Halos considered that Kluber was dominating into the 5th (when I quit watching). I seriously thought we might be seeing the season's first no-hitter until the bunt and the blast in the fifth.

Things can sure change from one day to the next. Giants chase King Felix.

Cozart should buy Ohtani a donkey if he makes the All-Star Game.

The Rockies have never had a home opener postponed -- incredibly. But snow in the forecast for Friday's 2 p.m. opener and conditions more like a Broncos game in December. This after we've had a bone-dry winter.

It can be done -- if they go to a more balanced schedule by eliminating the randomness of interleague play by having everyone play every other team, get rid of divisions and get rid of the outdated American/National Leagues.

It can’t be done. You can’t have a schedule restriction for those eight teams. It would create unfairly long trips, some that would run up against union rules. Add in the specially requested road days each team has (for concerts, city festivals that need the downtown area, etc.) and it simply doesn’t fit.

They do a good job of limiting it. But eliminating it is impossible.

Just for kicks, I went through the Yankees' and Mets' schedules in 1993, the last year before interleague. There were four separate blocks in the schedule that they were both at home or both on the road for more than an overlapping day, including when both were home for Memorial Day weekend.

    This isn't a new thing.
