Watched the first 4+ innings of the Astros-Padres. Cole and Mitchell both pitched lights out.

I thought I was going to see my first perfect inning in top-1. Cole struck out the first 2 on 6 pitches and started the third batter with a strike.

But he threw a ball on the 8th pitch.

Yankees: The Brandon Drury "Injury" Goes Far Beyond A Headache

As Lucy used to say to Ricky Ricardo, “You’ve got some ‘splainin’ to do,” Mike Hazen, the GM of the Arizona Diamondbacks, has some explaining to do regarding what he knew about Brandon Drury’s spells with dizziness and migraine headaches before he traded Drury to the Yankees. But as with anything, it’s more complicated than that.

Immaculate innings are great — rarer than no-hitters even despite 8 of them in 2017; only Koufax has done it 3 times — but 3-pitch innings are greater.

Today’s trivia (from SportsNet LA): 95 players have had a first or last name that is a state capital but Austin Jackson is the only player with both his first and last name be state capitals

I’m guessing it’s Mike Montgomery, Daryl Boston and a bunch of guys named Austin or Jackson.
