One to have fun with: If it's supposed to be runs batted in, then why are walks with the bases loaded that drive in a run counted? The ball wasn't batted on the fourth ball.

 

Most of this is probably the Indians' fault, as they can't seem to score more than two runs a game. Until tonight.

To your question about slumps, Yoan Moncada is No. 1 in baseball on exit velocity. He is batting under .200.

 

That's not really my question (although I'm getting kind of annoyed that I even asked anything!).

My question is, will there be a week in May that Yoan Moncada's exit velocity is 20 mph below what it was last week. Or is hitting the ball hard a constant?

 

I would think that exit velocity would vary (partially) randomly with contact. Swinging hard is something of a constant. Connecting while swinging hard isn’t.
