Some work in the minors would clean that up.

Ohtani First at bat: faces his first shift, goes opposite field for a double.

Nah. He's just defending it. I comprehend what he is writing just fine. Keep trying, JC. With all that energy you keep expending, you might finally make a tackle on your own someday.

You do follow, but you are lying as you show your cowardice. :)

    FWIW, his 0WAR in '97 was 5.9 compared to 5.2 in '94.

Wow. Tremendous stat:rolleyes:. The average time from home to 3rd is about 12 seconds. Could it possibly be that there aren't many triples hit by pitchers.

No, he’s not, not once did he.

    Quote the post he did.

So yet another thing he does better than anyone else.
Yet the jury is still out whether he belongs in the majors.

    4 for 11 -- .364! -- since his first 19 at-bats. Overall average up to .367.

But he pitches tomorrow so he'll probably sit today, which makes him weak.

The whole idea that he wasn't ready remains laughable to me. He played five seasons in Japan, starting when he was 18. Japan isn't MLB, but it's pretty good baseball. He played in more than 400 games. That's a decent sample size. His last two seasons, he had an OPS of 1.004 and .942. He's a better pitcher than a hitter, and MLB pitchers will start figuring him out sooner or later. But he's as close to a stone-cold lock as you can get. Anyone who saw him play in Japan knew that he's special. It wasn't some secret. I was last in Japan in 2013, halfway through his rookie season. People there were already talking about him enough that I went to have a look. He's played almost five years since. It's literally insane that anyone thought he didn't belong here.
