One thing I've seen kicking around in the last week is the revival of the widely held notion -- before he signed -- that he would be a $200 million player if he hit the open market.

    This is Olney from September:

Olney: How can Shohei Otani make up $200 million in squandered value?

Just your basic high schooler, really.

How's Yasiel Puig doing this year?

No argument about Huntington. He does a great job. It's the owner forcing every cheap move, such as weakening the team for the sake of dumping salary this past offseason.

Praying the returning guys get better does not make a good offseason, and really, that would be why the Pirates improve. Even a cowardly troll like you knows that.

Succeed or fail this season, the Pirates had a lousy offseason. If they contend, they should have been adding rather than subtracting during the offseason. If they fail to contend, that will again be a reason why.

Off to a slow start after last season's .833 OPS and 28 home runs.

    Is there a point here?

    Just curious.

He was the last player I can think of to generate this kind of excitement when he came into the league.

Probably still better than his countryman Yoan Moncada.

I am guessing the minor leagues.

Dickie tries another tactic. I point out how he's wrong again. You think he did something worthwhile and jump on the pile. Rinse. Repeat.

Look how well Ohtani's outfield arm would fit in in AAA

Anyone else believe Dick really hopes Ohtani gets pulled after three innings tonight so he can start calling him three-inning Ohtani? ;)
