In Ohtani’s last 19 plate appearances, he is 4-for-17 (.235) with zero home runs and six strikeouts.

Funny. This sure seems like Dickie using a small sample size to try to make a point. :)

Still good for 37 plate appearances.

Five-Inning Jake, BTW. Not Six-Inning Jake. Five.

Endorphins were still a-flurry. I also didn't edit "from" out of the second line.

It’s almost as if the larger the sample size is, the more that the numbers become a truer reflection of his ability.

The statistical term you’re thinking of is “efficiency” ...

Songbird was just trying for the accuracy you don't find interesting. :)

So the .324/.378/.676 slash line is a truer reflection of his ability? Hmmm. Sure seems like it still shows that Passan's report was spectacularly wrong.

You aren't proving the point you think you are.

    Focus.

Is he a major league player, or should be be in the minor s?

Every thing else is just noise rattling around in your head.

What if these had been his first 19 plate appearances of the season?

You said the scouts were “spectacularly wrong” about Ohtani. I said that it was too early to know for sure if that was the case.

We will probably both be right.
