They still play 162 games, right? Harper averages 128. That’s 79 percent of his team’s schedule.

Yet he's still going to sign a $300 million contract this fall. The question is: If the Nats aren't going to resign him, do they trade him at the deadline to another team willing to give up prospects for a $300-million glass outfielder?

 

Is the often-injured Bryce Harper really worth $500 million?

The last time Bryce Harper played a full season of baseball, he was a 19-year-old rookie. That was five years ago.

Don't forget regarding Ohtani: Passan, scouts, and that other guy with a twitter account and a HOF vote said that he wasn't major league ready on Opening Day. It was spectacularly wrong then, it was spectacularly wrong after 19 PA, and it will be spectacularly wrong at any point in the season.

His final run given up was a gopher ball given up by a reliever. The dude got on by a 3-2 walk on a low strike over the middle of the plate.

His stuff was electric, and he seemed to miss a lot of borderline pitches.

That said, when the Astros did connect, they hit the ball hard.
