2009, falls, breaks elbow:

Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton will have to undergo surgery to repair a fractured right elbow, caused when she slipped and fell on her way to a White House meeting on Wednesday evening, the State Department said Thursday.

Mrs. Clinton, 61, was taken to George Washington University Hospital, where doctors determined the break would require an operation, said a State Department spokesman, P. J. Crowley. “She is at home, resting comfortably, or uncomfortably,” he said.

Mr. Crowley said Mrs. Clinton was reading papers and making calls. But she canceled her public schedule, which included an appearance with the actress Angelina Jolie at an event marking World Refugee Day and an awards ceremony at the American Foreign Service Association.

The mishap occurred as Mrs. Clinton was walking to her car in the basement of the State Department. She was headed to a meeting with President Obama, accompanied by the administration’s special representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan, Richard C. Holbrooke.

As a result, she will not testify as scheduled on Thursday before Congressional committees investigating the September attack on the American diplomatic outpost in Benghazi, Libya.

The fainting episode occurred after Mrs. Clinton, who is being widely discussed as a possible presidential candidate in 2016, became dehydrated because of a stomach virus she contracted during a trip to Europe, according to statements released by a close adviser and her doctors.

Hillary Clinton was briefly hospitalized in India after she suffered a minor injury at her hotel, a hospital official said Friday.

Suresh Goyal, chief executive of the private Goyal Hospital in the northwestern city of Jodhpur, told the Associated Press that Clinton arrived at the hospital early Wednesday and stayed for about 20 minutes. He declined to say what the injury was.

The AFP news agency said Clinton fractured her wrist and cited local and international media reports that she slipped in a bathtub at Umaid Bhawan — a former palace that‘s now a luxury hotel. The incident comes five months after Clinton, 70, broke her toe while running down some stairs in London.

Hell, my mother is older that Hillary, has MS, and doesn't fall this often.

 

Maybe, just maybe, Hillary is a klutz.

It is interesting to see the Washington Free Beacon come out in opposition to homophobia, however. I suspect their motive for the story is not to expose bigotry against a group that the Free Beacon's ideology disdains but to embarrass a leftist talk-show host.
