It's interesting. Through all the media layoffs we've seen over the years, the one constant here was the rule of thumb that you don't celebrate someone's firing, even if you don't like them, their politics, or their point of view.

I still can't believe CNN told us that the Anderson Cooper tweet was made by someone who grabbed his assistant's -- unlocked phone -- from his gym bag, and that was the end of it.

I guess they really didn't want to fire the assistant, but the lie was so outrageous.
