Because #metoo all but demands that they disclose that up front, right? So maybe this is something else?

    NBC must be pissed.

Surely the must have assumed that between Tom's trashing of the victim, the letter of support from his female colleagues, and their decision to not further investigate, that other victims would think it wasn't worth coming forward, and they could quash this.

    R. Kelly Faces a #MeToo Reckoning as Time’s Up Backs a Protest

Since the start of the grass-roots social media and on-the-ground protest campaign called #MuteRKelly last summer, 10 of his concerts have been canceled, including one scheduled for Saturday in his native Chicago. A lawyer, a publicist and an assistant all parted ways with the singer recently. And on Monday the Time’s Up organization, which aims to combat sexual misconduct and support its victims, threw its considerable celebrity weight behind the #MuteRKelly hashtag, releasing an open letter calling on corporations tied to Mr. Kelly to cut him off.

In a statement from and addressed to women of color, Time’s Up wrote: “The scars of history make certain that we are not interested in persecuting anyone without just cause. With that said, we demand appropriate investigations and inquiries into the allegations of R. Kelly’s abuse made by women of color and their families for over two decades now.”

This happened in 1968 and it was an attempted kiss.

A famous, rich, high profile, news reader attempted to have sex with women; that is not surprising.

They would not have been smart then because more people coming forward is what usually happens.

These stories keep saying Brokaw tried to or did “forcibly kiss” women. It’s troublesome if they were subordinates or if he were married at the time. But did Brokaw stop when asked to stop or keep going? Is he just bad at reading a situation? I can’t remember specific situations, but I have no doubt I made a move or two in my time that was rejected. Before #MeToo, you went for the kiss, and that was roundly considered OK. I even remember a female friend urging me, “If you’re thinking it, it’s almost certain she is, too. Start going for it.”
