You are helping make my point. It was a decision that looks bad in hindsight and it was made to save money. Relatively speaking, it wasn't even that much money. The Pirates have done this over and over again.

Hell, Gerrit Cole is making even less this year, though he is eligible for arbitration in 2019 and a free agent in 2020.

My point is that either option is possible. Your accusation lacks merit because there are other possibilities and you don't have any real evidence. All you have is that he's throwing to hard and pitching too well.

It was to save themselves from another year of shitty pitching.

He was bad in 2015, but he had been solid the two previous seasons. It made sense at the time. Not many people predicted the current turn in his career. But if you're going to use hindsight as TSP did, it is fair game for me to do so as well.

Trevor Bauer in the midst of a Twitter argument about whether Charlie Morton and other Astros pitchers are increasing their spin rate -- and thus their strikeouts -- by using a foreign substance on the ball.

This won’t help him contract negotiaons, RBI production is key in getting a monster deal.

The Braves really are impressive. Albies has been excellent and Swanson has taken big step forward. Soroka looks good tonight, but he's not even the most gifted of the pitchers they had in the minors to open the season. He is just the most polished now.
