The NFL cheerleader thing is an odd deal. I understand the team exploits them, and I imagine they will continue to do so as long as women will continue to show up for tryouts.
Perhaps all the "extra stuff" they have to commit to - the calendars, the "special visits," the tv shows, the special appearances wouldn't be so bad if the team actually paid the cheerleaders for their time. Most, I've heard, get minimum wage for games. How much do you think Dallas makes off of it's cheerleaders?

 

They should get, at minimum, $2,000 a week for their in-season work.

 

Somebody told me once that the cheerleaders get paid little for the games, but make their money on those appearances and calendars. (Who the fuck buys a calendar?)
