Watch out for those geriatrics throwing elbows. It's like a flabby arm spanking machine.

Yeah, for the first 15 minutes or so I was the youngest person in the pool by at least 20 years.

I'm old enough to remember when the old dudes at the Y swam nekkid.

    Be grateful.

6 more days in the book: 415 minutes, 7,872 calories, 33.0 miles

I decreased incline this week in favor of mileage ... ran 15 minutes each of the last 2 days and finished with 6+ miles each day.

    Last 11 weeks: 4,129 minutes, 94,757 calories, 318.66 miles

My body is telling me it needs a week off from heavy cardio. Might do some light lifting next week.

    How so? Sore? Burned out?

    Not sore. Bored.

I've done cardio straight-up for 10 months. Had a hard time mustering the oomph to do it this week.

I hear that. Part of the reason I can't wait until Sunday is over is so I can start mixing things up a little bit more starting next week or the week after.

That’s your mind talking not your body. Have to mix it up. Smart move on your part. It’s also better physically to expand your workouts.

It is. You need to shock the muscles or they know what's coming after a while.

Swimming is a great workout ... arms, legs, core muscles. I need to get back into it.

Hardest part for me about returning to the pool after a long time away is getting the breathing pattern down. My "form" resembles thrashing more than freestyle.

Yeah. I do mostly breaststroke because it’s the easiest one to get close to correct. Regular freestyle was more difficult than I expected.

I also try to “run” a little while I’m in the pool.

Wonder how @Dick Whitman's hammy is holding up right about now.
