    I was spared.

Looks like it is going to be a good day.

I'm spared, so I can finally post after seeing the movie tonight.

People are talking about the dark ending. It wasn't really an ending, but a cliffhanger. No one who knows anything about comics believes anyone is really dead, though I can buy anyone wiped out pre-snap isn't coming back. There are only so many movies, so there probably isn't going to be too much focus on bringing back Gamora or Vision or Loki. Everyone who died post-snap will probably by restored by The Avengers taking control of the gauntlet and using the Time Stone to undo everything.

Even if not, they could make Miles Morales by the next Spider-Man or Shuri take over for the next Black Panther movie. That's happened in the comics. Plenty of people have been Captain America, so different characters can play him. Even Thor.

My predictions -- remaining Avengers defeat Thanos and restore time to as it was pre-snap, with Cap, Thor, and Iron Man dying or becoming incapacitated in the process. Those actors can then be replaced in the next go-round of Marvel movies.

Also, Thanos will never win a Nobel Peace Prize. Neither will Tony Stark. Steve Rogers might.

You’d have a lot of pissed-off black women if Boseman was replaced.

    And white women.

You can change characters in comic books but the mass audiences that watch movies are tied to Boseman, Evans, Hemsworth in the respective roles. Steve Rogers isnt Cap’n America, Chris Evans is.
So far they’ve saved the original Avengers, Thor, Iron Man, Cap, Hulk, Widow and Hawkeye. That has to be form of manipulation by Dr Strange.

BTW, if Loki really did die, his story arc was complete redemption.

I agree. However, those actors can't play these characters forever. Hell, we've had three different people play Spider-Man over the last 20 years. Three different people have played Hulk in Marvel movies, though it's only Ruffalo in Avengers movies. Eventually these guys will age out of their roles. Downey Jr. is already up there.

Some day they'll have to move on from each of these actors. The next movie might offer a way to do that for Downey Jr., and Evans. I'd bet a lot of money that Boseman and Holland will be in the next Black Panther and Spider-man movies.

I don't think they'll be outright recasting those roles anytime soon. I think they'll be moving on from those characters and onto other characters as the centerpieces of the franchise. It's not like these characters were all tentpoles before the MCU made them stars. Captain America was a little out of date but still a major player, but Iron Man was a third-tier guy and Thor was a weird anachronism from a much older era of comics.

They can keep digging up charismatic actors, pair them with just about anything in a latex suit, give them one-liners and fight scenes, and they'll keep selling plenty of movie tickets.

I agree that they won't be just putting somebody else in the Iron Man armor. In some ways, War Machine can take on that role, but Rhodes doesn't really take on the Stark role in things.

It does make sense for another character to be Captain America, based on the comics. I think Hemsworth is going to be around a bit longer before they think about recasting Thor or moving on from the character.

No way in hell they are moving on from Boseman right now. Maybe Holland, just because the rights to Spider-Man are a bit tricky, but I doubt that as well.

For some reason, I never liked Falcon Cap. FemThor worked amazingly well. Amadeus Hulk makes sense to me because it felt like we'd explored every last square inch of Banner/Hulk that there was to explore. Anyone who doesn't love Miles Morales is a monster.

But Falcon as Captain America just felt like they took a completely different character with a completely different power set and painted him Cap's colors.

If they did kill him they probably would have had a post credit scene on it similar to Hill dying. Her on screen death was gratuitous, but may signal that we’ve seen all the deaths of the characters previously introduced.

He wasn't in the movie so he's still on the table until we get information to the contrary in either Captain Marvel or Ant-Man and Wasp heading into Avengers 4 in 2019.
