Do people still fall for that whole "veteran teaching the rookie" garbage?

Ben talking about the help he received from Tommy Maddox:
”He’ll meet me halfway out on the field to answer a question for me,” “I owe so much of my success to his help.”

SI: How quickly Roethlisberger forgets Maddox's team-player approach

I have no idea how much Maddox helped Ben, but jezuz, quit acting like a jerk for once.

  3. I don't think the Steelers improved via the draft for this season, but the picks are picks. That's it.
And let's face facts, they need a starting QB within the next 2-5 years.
    I don't think he's going anywhere short term (2018-2019)
But IF Rudolph does becomes the heir-apparent, I can see Ben shipped off or retiring following the 2020 season.

One of the best pieces advice I ever got: don’t ever talk about considering retirement soon. You could wind up displaced far earlier than you had intended.

Pretty stupid that the Lions didn’t find out about this when they did their background check.

Perhaps they did and felt satisfied. He was indicted, then not prosecuted. An indictment is just an accusation. Anyone can be accused. They never pursued it, so there was no conviction; not even an attempt at a conviction. In this country, you are presumed innocent until there is a conviction.

He was charged 22 years ago, not prosecuted, never sued and claims he was falsely accused. What are we supppsed to do with that info?

The Lions didn't know about it when they hired him.
Deadspin claims it found it on Nexis in 30 seconds. https://deadspin.com/we-found-matt-patricia-s-sexual-assault-indictment-in-3-1825909467

He was also 21. And likely NOT a Duke Lacrosse team member with access to pricey lawyer.

And the case was dismissed because the victim declined to testify.

The fact this is 22 years old ??? ... pretty shitty to bring this up now without more info. (I know, you prolly can't sit on this).
If there IS more to this story, IF Patrica and his buddy did what they were indicted for, it's worth a story and maybe more. But that's a big IF.

If there was nothing to this, it's a smear. And a shitty thing to do a guy well after the fact.
It's not like this is his first big job in the NFL.
