Karate Kid sequel: Daniel-san grew up to be a jerk?

The show is getting rave reviews. Last I saw, Rotten Tomatoes had it at 95% approval. IMDB has it as a 9.2/10. Am I the only one that had a serious problem with them remaking Karate Kid into an 8-part series? LOL

I mean, I enjoyed watching it. If I had never seen Karate Kid, I probably would give it a 9/10 as far as TV series go. But having seen Karate Kid a million times, it got to where I could predict the next scene (and my wife hated me for it).

 

I appreciate the effort and liked a lot of aspects of the series but it flailed/flopped every here and there.

But, you can't put a price on nostalgia.

 

Christ. I'm sure he's had a little work done but he sure doesn't look 72.

 

Season 2 won't have karate, instead it pivots to a courtroom drama over Johnny's unauthorized use of the Cobra Kai trademark.
