Pay rate is what makes people decide "Am I interested?" Not providing it --- especially when asked to --- is a bright red flag.

You may not be aware, but journalists tend to be a curious bunch, especially in regards to payment for their services. If you can’t answer basic questions about the enterprise, don’t be surprised if journalists meet you with skepticism.

All you have done so far to drum up interest is connect the words journalist, sports and blockchain. Put together a cogent description of the work (and include some sort of pay scale) and I’m sure you’ll find many interested journalists.

The fact that you aren’t doing so, especially after being asked to, speaks poorly of either the enterprise or your ability as a headhunter.
