Well, that sounds like an awesomely economical deal if only on two or three tokes.

I haven't touched the stuff in nearly two decades. But must admit I liked it back when I did, and legalization fever has gotten me curious to try again. If I do, this thread has taught me to avoid edibles.

The other economic benefit, going out buzzed, is that you don't feel as compelled to drink. I might have had a couple of bottles of beer. Had I been relying on alcohol, that was at least a $70 night. It was less than $20 for me to be buzzed for eight hours. Plus my dinner tasted extra delicious, I didn't punch anybody, I didn't ingest 5,000 grams of carbs, and I didn't have a hangover.

EDIT: Wasn't two or three tokes for the whole night. A cone—one fattish joint.

Same here. Are low-dose edibles not available?

You just have to break them apart. They come as gummies or chews or chocolate bars, divided into squares, for example. Usually a single gummy or chew is 10 mg of THC, I believe. The problem is when you think nothing's happening, so you take more, but really it's just that it takes a long time to kick in. The second time I tried them, I was fine, because I didn't take too much.

Then you pretty much experienced what an acid trip is like.

    That sounds really dangerous.

How much does a 10mg edible cost?

Was in Durango for a golf week last summer with my crew of old farts (I'm the young guy). Talk about weird recreational substance laws. You can't swing a dead cat without hitting a pot dispensary ... but grocery stores and other non-liquor-store retailers are prohibited from selling anything other than 3.2 beer. If you want regular-strength beer, you've gotta go to a liquor store.

    I think it's like $50 for a 100mg package.

So, you can get acid-trip-level fucked up for $5?

Yeah, that sounds like a really bad idea.

    For $10.

You know, folks who get aggravated about pot smokers discussing the various strains have a limited view of the big picture. The strains are vital, inasmuch as indicas are lay-down grass and sativas get the creative juices flowing. It's not like that beer vs. this beer.

One of us must’ve done the math wrong. $50 for 100mg = $5 for 10mg.

At either price, it still sounds like a really bad idea.

It was 20mg that did me in, is what I'm saying. A double dose.
