You aren't, but MS-13 is a bigger deal than all of those things and has been for a while. That said, your overall point is correct, which is why YF is clinging so tenaciously to his little angle.

I don't think the argument was that it's new. It's that it hasn't had the high profile awareness currently being received so it's flown under the radar for a lot of people.

The fact that you had to pull a story from 2008 kind of helps prove my point.

I said in my original post, that I regret so mightily, that they were formed in the 1980s. They are apparently not new. It is, however, definitely new that MS-13 is part of the national conversation.
